NES to SNES seems like a big jump only because of how laughable NES hardware was, even for it's own time. It's not much of an achievement to make a big jump from that 


He wasn't making a cheapshot; he was pointing out that you didn't actually answer his point at all. The conversation was about proportional leaps in power. NES to SNES was 64x and PS3 to PS4 is 16x. Therefore, the leap was bigger. It doesn't matter if NES hardware was crap; the leap was still bigger.

Also, your second argument is very difficult to process. You realize that when the Wii U was launched, you could make the same statement about it? It added 0.75GB more than Wii's RAM, if I'm not wrong. No other console had done that so far. Do you really think that means it was the biggest jump ever because of that?
