YES YES YES!!!! HE'S DEAD :'D. Never in my life I felt so happy :')

Nice person you are! It don't matter who he was, you shouldn't be celebrating the death of anyone

PS my thread on this was better, until it got locked! This website needs better search options i think. At least, it got attention

Tell that to me millions of people he killed in his 14 years of being president. I'm from Venezuela and I know exactly what's happening in there, he deserved to died, period.

What about the improvements to life there, that only happened because of him? From what i've heard, Poverty has halved there, as has child mortality, he has given people free healthcare and education and unemployment has fallen by half in 13 years. And if he is really killing people, why is he so popular? People could of voted him out at any time, they could of voted for Henrique Capriles, but they didn't. Chavez couldn't of been that bad. And if he did kill millions of people, where's your proof anyway? and are you sure that's not to do with the notoriously murder rate in Caracas?

And even if Chavez was a bad leader, he was among the best Venezuela had. At least, he tried to represent his people. Maybe, things will get better without him, but the socialist revolution will not die just let. Also, i respect him for being one of the few to actually stand up to the USA, and show it's blantatly obvious flaws.

This will be very long but ok.

Education: Chavez implemented what he calls "missions" that give free education...this "education" means people graduating from doctors in 5-6 months, and I'm dead serious with this one. Can you call that education?

My uncle lived in a farm so to speak, one of his neighbors was in one of this missions and he was happy because he graduated from doctor in 4 months iirc. My uncle just for fun asked him what component is normally used to care one simple allergy, he answered: "pills", he then asked him to do a simple math problem: what's 9*9? he answered: "I don't know, I'm a doctor I don't understand math". Real life situation that I saw personally.

Heath care: hospitals do not have the require equipment to preform very easy surgery. People have died from a simple operation that has 2% of murder rate, because they didn't clean up the tools and the injury was infected. This also applies to education because this "doctors" are the ones that will preform the surgery.

Murder rate: Venezuela has 3 cities in the top 50 most dangerous cities in the world (Caracas, Barquisimeto and Ciudad Guyana) Caracas in particular is on number 6, with the number of deaths above 2k. BTW the government doesn't count deaths coming from two group gangs, this numbers are just deaths from robbery and those things (so the real number could be higher). Is Chavez and the government guilty of this? Yes, why? because they haven't done anything to prevent all this things, the police in Caracas is probably one of the most corrupt ones in the world. The government lets prisoners out extremely quickly. Chavez and the government are indirectly responsible for all this deaths. Caracas (and Venezuela in general) is a heaven fro the drug dealers, since there are no controls, this guys can do whatever the hell they want. There's also the Guerrilla from Colombia, they go to Venezuelans borders (and even to the capital) to kidnap people. One of of my dads friend was killed by the Guerrilla, and again there are simple no controls to prevent this things, iirc the Colombia government found some documents of the Guerrilla working with some politics in Venezuela (not 100% sure on this, because this was a long time ago). Venezuela is land of no rules, even worst than Ciudad Juarez. My friends and family are scared to leave their houses. My friends pretty much only go from their house to school and then back to their house.

Poverty: I left the country 6 years ago. Back then there was A LOT of people living on the streets. Did that change? according to my friends and family that are still living there, no. Everyday they see more people. Later we have the lights going out all the time (not sure if this goes into this category), when I left this wasn't a problem but recently my friends tell me this happens a lot and even goes to 24 hours without electricity, when I left the main company that provided electricity was a private company, which a few years back was taken over by the government and all this problems start to happen. Also, 60% of the Venezuelans employees (as told by the government) are people working on the streets, no real education, just selling stuff they find or build themselves. That means 60% of people do not pay taxes, which brings me to the next topic.

Economy: Venezuela has an inflation of 700%, the economy will soon collapse. Before Chavez government the country had 30 billion dollars of external debt, last year this was 150 billion dollars. Venezuela isn't producing anything other than oil (which is A LOT lower than it was 10 years ago, can't remember the official numbers though). Almost every food that's being consumed in the country comes from other countries, Venezuela isn't producing anything, and it's very limited. There's no food in the supermarkets, and the very little there is people need to fight over it. Again Chavez didn't put any controls to prevent this. Don't believe this, here's a video. I don't like it because they put it as a joke but basically it says that this is a normal day in every supermarket in Venezuela, that people couldn't find chicken since December, when they finally got one everyone jump like crazy.

How is this Chavez problem? He has destroyed various farms because they are "part of the government" and he left them to die. I know because my uncle farm was one of the thousands that had the same problem.

Finally we have people losing jobs because they don't like the government and Chavez. PDVSA was the main oil company (and still is, only at the verge of collapsing) but because of political differences 23k employees lost their jobs, and many of them couldn't (and still can't) find a new job. Some of them are death now. Just one last story, this one is quite popular: one of the workers in PDVSA was about to retired in only 6 months, he was in list of people that had to go because of different political preferences, because of the short time, they let him stayed. He suffered those 6 months from constant jokes and abuse from his co-workers (who now only believe in Chavez). 6 months later he entered his boss office to ask for the retirement, the boss trick him and refuse to give him what he asked, his reason? he didn't believe in Chavez political decissions. The guy was so angry and sad that he died of a heart attack right there in the spot. There are more cases similar to this (but without someone dying), and this keeps going. If you don't believe in Chavez (or fake you believe in him) you probably won't find a job.

Sorry for any grammatical errors, like you might guess English is not my native language.
