With just over a day until Sony’s big PlayStation Meeting which has the industry on super hype mode, news has surfaced that Square Enix technical director Yoshihisa Hashimoto has embarked on a trip from Japan to JFK airport.

A photo of Hashimoto’s flight was posted on Facebook but has since been removed.  A member of Neogaf spotted the post before it was deleted and it has since been verified that said flight is on its way to New York.

During E3 2012, Yoshihisa Hashimoto demonstrated a  highly-detailed real-time tech demo called the “Agni’s Philosophy”  which is powered by Square Enix’s in-house developed next generation Luminous Engine. Since then Square Enix has been demoing its new technology during a number of different venues around the world.

In an interview during the Paris Games Week 2012, Technology Director Julien Merceron teased that the company had plans to show off the demo again, only this time it would be presented on “different platforms”.

With Sony expected to announce the next PlayStation tomorrow night, it’ll be interesting to see if Hashimoto’s trip to NYC is indeed related to the PlayStation Meeting or just coincidental.
