Black Tusk is hiring for somebody (Posted Jan. 23) to work on various AI systems such as path finding, decision making, crowd systems, squad logic etc. Experience with multiplayer and/or co-op gameplay development, Unreal engine experience and strong debugging and optimization skills in a multi-threaded environment is a also a plus.
Epic games engine programmer job listing (Posted Jan. 22) mentions multithreaded systems, console experience, especially next-generation systems, experience with mobile engine development and Xbox LIVE experience. Epic games mentions in another job listing for a level designer (Posted Jan. 22) as qualification publicly released levels for a FPS, RPG, or Action Adventure game. Microsoft had a position open to work as a producer for Epic on dec. 12 2012. Microsoft also for their partner program is searching for a design director to work with external developers on Microsoft’s core titles (including shooters, RPGs, action/adventure, etc.).
Microsoft Studios has a number of successful core franchises: Halo, Fable, Forza Motorsport, and Gears of War. Our job is to add new blood to this stable of AAA franchises.
There are some different projects floating around:
New effort to create a franchise that blends the best elements of games and TV/film. Maybe related to their LA Studio, who is also kind of scouting for the same thing.
The Core Games Publishing team’s charter is to partner with the best developers in the world to create the next great core franchises for this generation and future generations of Xbox. Makes me think that they are not only looking at US or Canada based developers, but also Europe. Crytek's Ryse could also fit here.
They are looking for a Senior Producer to drive the future of gaming through a hybrid of AAA core games and service-based experiences, technology, and business model.
They are looking for a producer to work with Epic. Either could be the next Gears or new IP.
They were looking for Design Director with proven creative and leadership ability to work with external developers on Microsoft’s core titles, including shooters, RPGs, action/adventure, etc.
Here is another:
"BigPark is also reportedly working on a AAA title at the moment (developers of Joy Ride). I assumed they were working on a crappy motion control-based game, but it's supposedly going to be a big new IP for Microsoft. I don't think we'll hear about it until next year, though. (If anyone's wondering, I heard this from a friend of someone who did a co-op work term there"

Guy who worked on (with others of course) on the engine that drove Sleeping Dogs and ModNation Racers works for Microsoft Studios Victoria now.
