The latest issue of VJump has begun leaking out and with it some new information on LRFFXIII.

The big scoop is an all new character by the name of Lumina who appears at Lightning’s destination. She is said to be both a help and hindrance – with an appearance somewhat like a gothic lolita Serah (complete with duck-lips), content with toying with Lightning.

Not much else is known about her, but more information should be available soon – or at least by next week when Famitsu provides the entire thing.

The magazine also has some updates on Lightning’s costumes. Known in the game as “Wear” Lightning can equip up to three at once and change between them in real time during battles. Each outfit has its own ATB gauge that fills as you continue to fight.

If you paid attention to the Jump Festa trailer, you might have caught a glimpse at one known as “Dark Muse.” It’s the one that has the grill-shaped shield, chap-like pants, a camouflage jacket and a knife. Her other outfit revealed looks similar to a samurai’s armor and is called “Alone in the Dust.” Lightning herself will have new magic and abilities such as guard and evade.

Quests can be retrieved from a bulletin board similar to Marks in FFXII. By completing quests you can extend the time left in the world.

Borderlands 2 producer confirms level cap raise for “quite a few levels” due by March

James Lopez, associate producer on Borderlands 2, has comfirmed a level cap raise is on the way, sometime in “Q1″, so by the end of March.

Borderlands 2 level cap raise incoming

Lopez confirmed the incoming raise while talking about Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt DLC which went live yesterday. He confirmed that while the new expansion doesn’t lift the level cap, “We do have one planned, and it will be for quite a few levels which will allow you play for quite a bit longer. We also have a plan for Q1″.

The cap raise timing is partly dictated by Borderlands 2′s increased stat tracking. “With Borderlands 1 we had to go by forum posts, and by checking out the number times certain achievements had been unlocked to really get an idea of where players were” explains Lopez. “But SHiFT allows us to see a lot more about the way players are playing the game, and see what they’re doing. We wanted to give people enough time to get at least one level 50 in there, and then see from there, how many people are doing this. Is this a good time for this? We also didn’t want to wait so long that people were no longer interested, or felt like it wasn’t coming”.

The new Hammerlock DLC is a story-based set of extra missions described by Lopez as, “a chums weekend”. You go to Aegrus (a new continent),” he continues, “which has been abandoned, and you go and hunt big game, and while you are there your hunting trip get interrupted by Professor Nakayama, a Hyperion scientist. He’s essentially the ultimate Handsome Jack fan, and distraught by, in his eyes, your murdering of Jack. So he wants revenge and to bring back Handsome Jack, so that Hyperion can get back to its former glory”.

“With every DLC we’ve tried to give the fans what they want, but we also want to give something extra” explains Lopez. “It’s a chance for us to tell a story that, for whatever reason, we didn’t get to tell in the main game. A chance for some more flavour, a little more lore about the world. I think that something fans of story-based games always want is more information about the world that that story takes place in”.

Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt DLC is availible for Borderlands 2 on the PSN now.

Uncharted 3 Going Free-To-Play? Announcement Soon, Q&A Hints, And New Lab Update

Last month, Naughty Dog teased about a huge announcement coming to the Uncharted 3 Multiplayer. While no details have been released so far, Naughty Dog has revealed that in a couple of days we will know, and even leaving hints of what it may be.

In the latest Blog update, they said "just a couple more days then we’ll be setting free some major Uncharted 3 news."

Now the latest hint comes from their most recent Q&A (now updated with answers) Question 7 asked:

Q: "Will you give us the option to install Multiplayer to hard disk?"

A: Hmmm, Good idea. Ask again in a couple of weeks.

Seems that we may be getting this option, but only time can tell. Along with this hint, Naughty Dog also revealed that new character parts DLC will be arriving in the coming months, and they also stated that it's possible that all DLC maps may come later for free, but at this time they are only working on Mesh lab maps.

Oh and the weekly Lab update is now live, featuring 3 versus 3 Team Objective base games with some tweaks to the system.

So what do you guys think? Is Uncharted 3 going free-to-play? From the sound of things it may become a download from PSN (just the Multiplayer portion), but if it's not free I wouldn't exactly call that a huge announcement.

Bethesda registers Fallout trademark for a television program

From The Vault
Jump to: navigation, search

On January 8, 2013, Bethesda Softworks has registered a Fallout trademark for "Entertainment services in the nature of an on-going television program set in a post-nuclear apocalyptic world." You can view the United States Patent and Trademark Office entry here.

Interestingly, a day later, Erik Dellums tweeted that there may be more Three Dog coming.

Correlation does not imply causation, but... let the speculation begin!
