Are you talking about the system's own digital copies or older system games like the PS2 games?

One example I'll give is day 1 digital deals the PS Store has. Why is a digital version of a game 60$ when you get no disc, no case, no manual which effectively remove the production factor of the game and then you also don't have to ship the console to retailers which further reduces the price. I don't understand this.

I see - They do that on Steam though so its nothing new unless if the game sells crappy or if the publisher/developer decides to cut the price on it.

They do that cause retailers dont want to be undercut, cause if they are they stop using showfloor for company items like console and acessories.
