Any reasons I'd choose Ubuntu over Android?

Only two I can think of:

1. Runs native code rather than a java-like VM. That means less overhead, and more efficient and responsive apps.

2. Can boot into a desktop UI. Imagine plugging your phone into a dock connected to moniter, keyboard, mouse, and wired ethernet and firing up LibreOffice to do some work on the files on your phone.

There are a lot of caveats here. First, Windows and iOS already run native code, so if that matters to you, you wouldn't run Android now. Furthermore, the second point is perhaps more elegantly achieved with a seperate desktop computer and a cloud service like Dropbox. Third, this product isn't expected to ship for an entire year! And finally, when it does ship, it's going to start off with an ecosystem of piss-all.
