Redguard: Next Skyrim DLC or Xbox 720 exclusive?

As Skyrim related new continues to dominate into the New Year many questions are being asked about the arrival times for DLC and why some content is still missing in action. We are currently contemplating whether the latest news about Redguard will be the next add-on in line or could this just be an Xbox 720 exclusive?

There is no straying away from the popularity of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and fans constantly want more, so we are intrigued about a report on OXM also questioning whether this will be another DLC or a new Elder Scrolls title. With talk about Redguard focusing on skilled warriors who come from the nation of Hammerfell it seems Bethesda’s parent company Zenimax trademarked the term “Redguard” back in October as DLC software delivered through the internet and wireless devices, although they have still not filed a Statement of Use.

With this in mind, the trademark will elapse in February 2013 if Zenimax do not file for an extension, so we expect them to act quickly if this is a form of DLC, unless we are looking at another full game intended to be released on the upcoming Xbox 720. Considering recent reports on the gap between Microsoft and Sony’s next console many may feel this could end up an Xbox 720 exclusive.

Going by those in the know, there is already an ES game called Redguard, so the expectation that this will be more DLC seems more plausible, especially considering we have heard rumors that more downloadable content is to be expected in the New Year. Now that we have visited Morrowind, Hammerfell could be the next step, although many gamers would like to return to Cyrodill and see the effects of the War with the Thalmor.

Last month we looked at further speculation regarding details of both the fourth and fifth DLC, and the uncertainty that revolves around this coming to the PlayStation 3. A friend of Bethesda ‘s staff has let us in on news that the PS3 DLC saga is weighing heavily on the morale of Bethesda, and many gamers that have waited over half a year for the first content may feel that their situation will not pluck at their heartstrings, as Bethesda should feel the pressure of upset gamers.

In relation to the original topic, are you expecting Redguard will be the next Skyrim DLC or an Xbox 720 exclusive?
