Inspired by IGN's article, this thread is about all those games that we were all eagerly expecting, but sadly, failed to live up to our expectations. This year, we got highly anticipated sequels and some incredible New IPs, some of them you loved... and some of them you didn't.

This thread is about any game you started playing this year, thus, it's not limited to games released in 2012. That said, this is my personal list.

...........................

Game I stopped playing: Xenoblade Chronicles.

Why I was excited for it: The Wii was always known for it's lack of any meaningful JRPGs, and finally getting a huge and complete experience was something to be excited about. Rightfully so, this game caught my attention and peaked when it was close to release. It seemed everything was going to be perfect and I was in for a treat.

Why I stopped playing it: Initially, this game was everything I had hoped for. The world, the story, the characters, I loved it. Sadly, I steadily lost interest the more I played, there were a lot of things I just couldn't bear and got to a point where I was forcing myself to keep going because I didn't want to hate this game. I suppose it just wasn't right for me.

Likelihood of returning to it: Low. Maybe someday I will play it again and love it. But I'm not counting on it.

Game I stopped playing: Rayman Origins.

Why I was excited for it: To be honest, I was impressed by the user feedback and the critics' opinions. Since many dared to say it matched Mario's endeavors, I really wanted to try it out.

Why I stopped playing it: Unlike Xenoblade, I hated this game as soon as I got it. The controls were a mess, the level design was repetitive and inconsistent. The levels were a total bore, the music was poor and the artstyle was confusing and sleep inducing.

Likelihood of returning to it: None. I still have the game, but the disk would be more useful as a frisbie for my dog.

What about you all? What are those games that you just couldn't love even if you tried?
