Not part of the main series? They are VERY MUCH a part of the main series. Besides, both promise a fun and engaging single-player and epic multiplayer, which is all that really matters.

What I mean is that they are not numbered. Ascension is a prequel and Judgment is a side story (? - not entirely sure on that). They'll both be very good, no doubt, but that's what we already know. We know less about how the other games you mentioned play or their story/characters.

In the case of 'The Last Of Us', yes it is new, i agree with you. But what about games like GTA V and BioShock infinite? They are no doubt additions to already established franchises, like Ascension and Judgement are, and one of them is actually not a sequel. So tell me, why are people excited about them? What new innovation are they bringing to the table?
