So you are probably thinking, isn't it a little late to be reviewing Journey? well yes, but at the end of the year I end up buying a lot of arcade games so I thought I'd post my thoughts in case you missed any of these titles this year.  I'll be reviewing more in the next few weeks and thought hey, might as well start out with Journey.

I'm sure that you have heard all the hype surrounding this game by now, so is it true what everybody has been saying?  Well let's find out. So Journey is a one of a kind game, something that you will only experience if you play this specific game.  It looks beautiful, it plays smoothly, and the experience is how do I say this....Intimate I suppose.  So if you want to skip the rest of the review go ahead, I'll go ahead and say right now that it is worth the $15 that you can buy on the PS Store.

First off the story is simply about you being in a Desert and in the distance you can see a mountain.  Their is no words, no directions, no subtitles, no nothing.  You just know that that mountain is what I want to reach.  As you are walking you may find another character (online player).  You can either choose to stay with this person or leave them.  For me personally the first person I met I stayed with him.  Their is no chat but somehow it makes it even more intimate. Oh and the music by the way......AMAZING! But yeah I stayed with this person for a long time, so much that we actually got use to how each other thought.  We would split up and complete our goals quicker, and any time I got a little ahead of him I would wait for him.  You can actually press a button to make a beeping noise.  So anytime he didn't seem to know what to do I would beep him in the right direction.  I know that sounds weird but it helped out.  Eventually we came to an area where their was these dragon like creatures.  We are both sneaking around trying to go unnoticed when I noticed an item on the opposite side, so I stopped and turned around looking at the object and started beeping.  He got the hint, noticed the item as well so we went to capture it together.  This type of stuff would happen every once and a while and I really can't explain how cool it fealt.

Now for the actual gameplay elements.  Well, they are ok.  This is more of an experience than a game it feels like.  Sure it has a few puzzles, a little bit of platforming, but mostly you are just walking.  Sure I can collect items to make my character jump farther and hide from the few occasional enemies but overall it's biggest flaw in it's self is the length.  I literally beat this game in like 90 minutes.  That is way to short, but somehow I still enjoyed it.  Still the platforming is nothing special and the length is way to short but for $15 i'd still say it is worth it. Because this isn't like any game I've played before I decided to give it a bonus category, the experience. I truly feel this game is an experience so I thought I'd throw that in their.

Final thought, buy this game.  It may be short, but lso an experience that I'm glad I did not miss.  This is by far my shortest review and I know it seems like their isn't much content and that is true, but still it is a great game.
