Been Playing Borderlands 2 recently on my PC and it's a pretty amazing game, much better than the first one. Got into The Dust location for the first time and I was fighting a couple of Buzzards when I heard one of the pilots humming Ride of The Valkyries...
Needless to say, I laughed my ass off for a good minute (still get giggles when I hear it), it's a pretty well done Easter Egg by Gearbox XD.

By the way, the game looks awesome :-O.

This is not an easter egg as you hear it many times in the game.

I believe an Easter Egg is not an isolated occurance but rather anything that is a reference to a popular tie-in. The Buzzard's pilot humming Ride of the valkyries is a clear reference to Apocalypse Now, so it's pretty much an easter egg, even if it's get repeated a lot.

A virtual Easter egg is an intentional hidden message, inside joke, or feature in a work such as a computer program, web page, video game, television program, movie, book, or crossword.
-wikipedia
The humming is not a hidden message.

Be it an Easter Egg or just a pop culture reference, it still stands the fact that it's funny as hell . And that's all that matters here.
