The writer doesn't know what he's talking about, to be quite honest.
As far as criticism goes, there hasn't been a console released yet that didn't deserve a share of it at launch and the Wii U is no exception. However, a lot of the criticism has been unfair. Judging the abilities of a system by launch titles, for example, is just a bad idea. We really won't know just how good Wii U multi-plats are going to be until we see a few that are developed concurrently with the other platforms. Likewise, we won't know how the Wii U measures up to the other next gen systems until those systems are released.
