They screwed up the 920 in North America. Both Rogers and AT&T versions come with custom carrier roms which don't allow for wifi tethering unless you use that specific carrier's ...even after the phone is unlocked.
HTC however is selling an unlocked version of the 8X which works fine and there are rumors that the Verizon and Tmobile versions of the 8X aren't locked like the Lumia's. So yeah, my WP8 device choice is fairly easy now.
