I think the point is that they said publically and loudly "This will protect internet privacy"
then changed it... and said nothing.
It would be like if I said "My bill will lower your taxes".
Then changed it to increase your taxes... but said nothing while people praised me for lowering their taxes until someone else noticed and mentioned it.
