That is the most interesting piece of news IMO. Well the week afer Halo 4 released was the week with the highest number of users in the history of XBL. Quite an achievement that the service had basically no problem at all except some Halo 4 server issues for about 5 hours.

Here is the article:

More people played on Xbox LIVE between November 6-13 than any other week in XBL history

Halo 4 and Black Ops 2 contribute to 442 million hours of playtime.

More people logged in to Xbox LIVE during the week of November 6 to November 13 than any other week throughout Xbox LIVE's 10-year history, Microsoft has revealed.

Xbox LIVE players logged a cumulative total of 442 million hours throughout the week - likely due to the release of highly-anticipated shooters Halo 4 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

"I'm proud to announce that during the week of Nov. 6 through Nov. 13, our members spent more time on Xbox LIVE (gaming and watching entertainment) than any other week in the history of our service: a total of 442 million hours," said Xbox LIVE GM Marc Whitten.

"And Halo 4, which broke entertainment industry numbers, resulted in the LIVE community unlocking 43 million achievements in just the first five days of gameplay."

Whitten adds that an average of 9.4 million people log in to Xbox LIVE to play multiplayer games each week, and across the 10 years of Xbox LIVE almost 14.5 billion Achievements have been unlocked, accumulating a total combined Gamerscore of over 270 billion.

Xbox LIVE turned 10 years old today. To celebrate, Microsoft launched an anniversary sale on Xbox LIVE Marketplace offering castle-smashing Kinect title Wreckateer for free.
