It's an ok game. One of the best from the early days. But it's not like there was much to compete with furing the first or so year.

I played the game about 2 years after its release and thought it wasn't all that great, to be honest. In fact, after this game, people started to praise Ninja Theory for reason I still don't understand. Not even Enslaved did it for me. And now, I'm kinda nervous about DMC. Although this one, I must admit, looks really good so far.

Anyways... Heavenly Sword should give you a week-end of fun. Don't expect much more from it. And no, it doesn't even come close to being comparable to God of War 3.

I presume people praised Ninja Theory for the very likeable heroin, the autstanding villain and the whole acting in general. The not too absurd storry filled with more memorable character development for even Roach only, than the whole GOW trilogy has for Kratos(I did not play the mobile games). The fighting mechanics was different and possibly could have been better (the final battle is still one of the most again, memorable ones I fought).

I played GoW3 not too long ago. Can't really remember how it ended. I played HS some years ago, still remember it vivdly.

So I guess what Ninja Theory can do is make a memorable game.

Biased? Yes. Passionate? Maibe. Had this game not been released in the middle of The PS3 Hate Storm, it would have been regarded as one of the best by the majority of PS3 gamers, not just the ... biased.
