So, I have the PS2 and the PS3, and I don't know half of the roster. I only know 9 of 20 characters, and 3 of them are third-party. You can't argue with that, because a lot of these "unknown" characters are from new franchises and none of them have sold a big amount.

 

On the other hand, the characters from Mario Bros., Zelda and Pokémon, are from franchises that have been around for decades and have sold large quantities.

 

Firstly, it appears that most of the ones you don't know are from PS1 games/franchises. If you didn't play the PS1, that is to be expected.

Secondly, Evil Cole is not a "clone" character. He's from the same game, but is a drastically different person.

Thirdly, I am very surprised that you don't know Jak and Daxter and hardly know R&C but you know Sly! That is reverse to most people.

Fourthly, I think it's quite obvious that Sony couldn't possibly include characters from franchises that have been around for decades because they haven't been around in the business that long. Their most successful franchise unfortunately doesn't have any real characters, but I've always wanted to see cars in a fighter.

I know, but that's because I love Sly Cooper games. Sly is so funny and smart. <3
