I don't know about that. I think the PS3 will increase in sales in 2008 vs 2007, possibly significantly. The 360, even with a price cut in 2007, didn't have a *significantly* better performance.
The quality of the hardware -- the PS3 over the 360 -- is a reflection of the quality of their source companies -- Sony over Microsoft. The biggest reason the 360 is staying alive is because of third party game support on the 360 vs that on the PS3. And this is primarily due to two factors: the one-year head start and the initial price point of the PS3.
I don't think it's silly to estimate that the 360 will outsell the PS3. I just think it will probably be wrong.
