Actually, they are offering a $100 refund or rebate to customer. People who sign up for a new contract will be getting the phone basically for free, minus any AT&T fees. Not everyone buying the phone will be getting it for free; however AT&T customers will be getting $100 off no matter how they purchased the phone.
Nokia fell hard, because they failed to evolve with the market. Going with Android would have guaranteed nothing.
