Seems we agree on whoever gay bashes is a moron. I personally was irritated that Tali didnt look more alien but thats it. Tali is only a supporting cast character, all this outrage seems like its overdoing it. I quite the contrary do understand the state of the industry. This happens more and more because time and time again gamers as a whole keep paying for it. This is an industry with a focus on profit may I remind you. We vocal minorities have no voice compared to the masses of gamers who have zero problem paying money for this stuff, thus encouraging more devs to follow suit. But also, and I cant stress this enough, as industries get bigger and more prominent/mainstream, and this gen is the biggest of them all, the industry finds more commodities and ways to get more cash flow. Tis the way of any industry. You just gotta deal. Furthermore, you think signing petitions, forum raging, and not buying the game out of protest is gonna do anything meaningful when again the majority opt for the DLC? You have to find a way to become the majority voice, otherwise your missing out on the larger picture that is the game as a whole. Start doing terrorist tactics like killing CEOs of 3rd party developers and hijacking/burning shipments of the games b4 they hit retail (Obviosuly not serious). Point is, anything short of extreme measures and your voice will NOT overpower where the industry is evolving, for better or for worse. The ending thingy we can argue all day long, it really is open to interpretation. But it was definitive and it ended the conflict with no real cliffhanger, which is what a ending should do. In the end, these are all nitpicky things that completely undermine the years of time, money, and manpower put into this game. People not buying all that hard work just because they took a shortcut with Talis face or some early DLC is disgusting. |
No no no no. No no no noooo.
You think that because something seems insurmountable you shouldn't pursue it? I mean, have you looked at..history? At all? Sure the issue od day one dlc isn't on the same level as the civil rights movement, but you CAN change things with a collective effort. The people like you are the reason why companies get away with this shit. One by one everyone falls into your mentality that it's impossible to stop so we have accept it. No. History has shown us that is not the case.
Hell, let's drop the history talk. Look at Dragon Age sales for proof that bad mouthing a company that releases a shitty product can affect sales. Dragon Age Origins - 4.07m. What about the sales of DA2 you ask? 1.86 Million. The sequel to a multiple game of the year winner thta recieved an even bigger marketing push and cross-game promotions. Why would it sell so much worse? People power. Even though the biggest games outlets gave it 9/10 out their asses, the bad word of mouth and negative press ensured that after the initial pre0order and launch spike, it dropped immediately. If enough people make their voices heard, you can change things far bigger than yourself. Vote me for president yeh ok.

Is the cutscene they showed as an example real? Not altered in any way? |
Yes, absolutely real, Bioware Quality. (He added the sound effect when Shepard punched the guy, that's it) Here is a link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVU6vHe5quw&list=LL-5_7zFiMfT7dDlaEXbe06g&index=8&feature=plpp_video
Remember, the game in that video is the 10/10 wonder game that is supposedly a pinnacle of story-telling and innovation.
