Those have multiplayer sales. People can have those games if they have either of the HD twins. Exclusives are the banner carriers for their brand. They are the value of the first party and the signifier of their audience.

Thats because with Microsoft mutliplayer trumps exclusives. It doesnt work that way with Nintendo or Sony.

With Nintendo absolutely.

Of course Multiplats are the top selling games on either system right now. Theres no delusion that exclusives create brand recognition. Microsoft doesn't worry about brand recognition with exclusives, because their value is in their online service and the Kinect. Microsoft realizes what makes them so much money, so they pour money into campaign ads for MW3, Skyrim and the like. Sony pours money into games, which is why their ads arent as good as they could be.
