The article took a very quick and unexpected turn to start talking about the UMD program and then ending 0_o.
Erm, Sony might have trouble cutting the price but it's hard to tell. The raw components were estimated at $170, which probablys come out at a loss per sale once you consider marketing, manufacturing, shipping, retail cuts blah blah but not by much. Plus they drove the cost of the PS3 down very quick so it might not that that long to give some room for a Vita price cut - also the accessories will be raking money in for Sony.
I doubt we'll see a price cut for a while, but I do expect some sort of Christmas "Vita + Uncharted + Another Game + 8GB SD card" for $249 type bundle.
