It's a success, just only a moderate one IMO. It took a considerable amount of marketshare from Nintendo and a decent amount of Japanese 3rd party support in recent years. However, I also think the PSP was full of missed opportunities for Sony; to me it almost seems that they were stumbling from one blunder with the platform to another constantly. To this day, I still believe that if Sony had played their cards rights they could've achieved around 50% of the marketshare, or even more.
