forget puzzles, Uncharted 3's plot was all over the place and some of the stuff that happens was never explained, Cutter suddenly goes POOF! and never to be heard again - Cutter badly breaks his leg and the context makes it clear he might be out the business (of adventuring) for good. He survived but is maimed. Hence why Chloe states it was too close. Rather than cuts and bruises he almost died and has been perhaps permenantly damaged. Cutter's dialogue makes it clear he has to drop out but he pushes Drake to continue so his injuries won't have been for nothing. chloe just left "lol i'm tired see you in the next game!" - see above. Chloe left because she felt it was getting too dangerous and that Drake was becoming obsessive which could make him reckless and lead to other's death/injury. This is pretty consistent with her character from U2. In addition it is strongly hinted she and Cutter have been and perhaps still are an item and it is strongly implied she drops out to look after Cutter following his fall. Hence Cutter/Chloe leave at the same time from plot. Elena's ring thing with drake, how the hell did he lose it ? and when did they propose ? , He didn't lose it he took it off when they seperated. The fact she still wears hers shows she hopes they'll get back together again. He feels guilty he's ditched his ring when she didn't - all this was about their wedding rings not his Francis Drake ring. That's why at the end he says what he does about getting a better ring. His obsession and quest is behind him. He's now with and focused on Elena again. Sully suddenly show up for teh lulz, and somehow sully is very important to the bad guys that they through out half of the game taking him hostage and drake's for some reason knows EXACTLY where to find sully, then comes Salim who suddenly decided to help drake , and just tells him a couple of lines and then leaves, who the hell are those pirates that took drake as hostage? Sully knows where the city is from the map in the night sky room. He is taken by Marlowe and forced to lead them into the desert to find it. Nathan is given to the pirates, presumerably to be disposed off, as he is of no further use to Marlowe. However, the pirates, being pirates which was a rather good joke - even if stolen from Pirates of the Caribean a bit - decide to keep Nathan alive to see if they can get a further share of any spoils. They lie - again being pirates - about having Sully then use the idea Sully is in the hold to lure Nathan there to trap him (after he escapes initially of course). Nathan finds Sully by trying to track Marlowe's convoy. Salim knows where this and can therefore lead Nate right to it why does drake hate talbot too much before talbot began to drug him? , and why do they want to study what the drug contains when they already have used it on Cutter and Drake? i mean they already have the damn thing, so why? - Drake hates Talbot by association with Marlow and because he is in a sense the anti-drake tutoured by Marlowe vs Drake tutored by Sully. The drug they have is not the one in the city. The point is the group they represent uses drugs (and similar techniques) a lot and the drug in the city would be the best ever for them to get their hands on. They don't already have it but have similar - but weaker - drugs they already use. Imagine the drugs they have are conventional weapons. Getting their hands on the drug in the city would be like getting their hands on nuclear weapons.
also marlowe is very uninteresting ! Well, that's down the individual I guess. I liked her as a baddie and thought she had interesting implied depth, but I don't think they quite balanced her on-screen presence enough. She needed a few more scenes with Sully/Nathan IMHO. However the scene where she makes Nathan feel like a runaway kid again and undermines his whole character just with some choice, cutting words (and knowledge of his past) was very good. the ending is just them escaping the city and then nothing happens , what the hell? =s What were you expecting? The bad team lose and die horribly, the good guys escape and the ancient evil is buried away. Standard ending for an action/adventure story. The character ending is Elena, Nate and Sully back together again, back with the same plane from Uncharted and Nate and Elena effectively married again. Traditional 'into the sunset without an actual sunset ending' that implies the characters are right where they should be and with each other ready to start a whole new life together - presumerably with more adventures along the way.

Shesh, pay attention!
OT - I agree. I'd like to see games like Uncharted have a puzzle difficulty as well as combat. The original System Shock plus a few other games did this and I think many more games should take this approach. Playing with hard puzzles basically would turn off all hints/hand holding and leave you to solve fairly tricky puzzles to proceed. Normal would be similar to U3 but maybe a bit tougher and Easy puzzles would be like Uncharted 1 and 2 where the game pretty much puts the solution in your lap and you just need to work out an easy "which block to push first" type of thing.
Silent Hill 2 for example had good multiple levels of puzzles, where depending on difficutly chosen you would get a really tough puzzle to work out or something progressively easier.
Sadly, today the trend is to try and ensure a majority of gamers can play through with only minor liklyhood of getting stuck on a puzzle so for the most part puzzles tend to be fairly nerfed.
