@superchunk and sapphi_snake: luckily I live in a safer zone, far away from the most dangerous torrents, but my mom was already moving to Tuscany (not in a dangerous zone) before the flood, she's just fed up of this town for a lot other reasons besides the horrible climate. As for me, it depends on where I'll find work after the degree, but surely we'll sell our current house here, it will be too big and expensive for me alone, and I'll keep in mind the dangerous zones to avoid, should I remain here...
