Sega never advertises their games. Look at Vanquish, Valkyria Chronicles, Viking: Battle for Asgard, Stormrise, Madworld, Alpha Protocol and Resonance of Fate. All those games are actually good and belong to genres that aren't overly saturated. Conduit 2 never stood a chance.

If it doesn't have Sonic in it, then it's not going to be marketed very well. The only non Sonic game that was actually marketed decently was Bayonetta and that was one of the best games of last year

Sorry but Sega choice was proper in regards to those titles.

Only AA quality title in that list is Valkyria Chronicles but it's cell shaded anime game which alone criples it's sales potential in west and being part of ultra niche srpg genre doesn't exactly help.

Viking was mediocry at most

Vanquish had a cripling flaw of being ultra short game with no online

Madworld - let's be serious - that game was shit with the only thing going for it being senseless violence, Postal or Manhunt weren't exactly uber sellers too.

Alpha Protocol - has some really great features in it but technical side is dragging it into mediocrity.

Stormrise is just shit

Resonance of Fate is above average but nowhere near AA jrpg potential

So the choice to not advertise them was smart - those games were mostly relatively low budget, so by going with stealth release they can probably recover cost. Advertising campaign would cost milions but there's no warranty it would be recovered from increase in sales.
