They seem to have focused (and from the look of the demo, executed well) on providing engaging combat in an RPG setting. What remains to be seen is how much of an RPG is left under the hood. For example, Mass Effect 2 provided great combat, but at a great blow to the character progression and exploration elements. They still had "role-playing" as you took the role of Commander Shepard, but it wasn't in the traditional sense.

The demo made it look like Oblivion crossed with Fable, with the combat of a third person action adventure. The only thing that really bothered me with the combat is how the game sort of pauses when you land an attack. I generally can't stand when that happens in a combat oriented game. It's what put me off of buying Castlevania LOS too.


he talked about that in the interview, he said that it makes you pay attention to certain abilities, since some have more to them. thats when he started talking about candy which was weird. but i still have to watch the demo, im still at the interview.
