Amazed so many people agree with this sentiment. Smacks of denial to me. Why can't you just shortlist and pick the very best for you? If there's a consistent stream of amazing games and you can't afford/don't have time for them all then you just prioritise. That way you don't attempt to justify denying others consistent new releases.

I'm not sure I get your drift. Seriously, I haven't even played a Professor Layton game ( Iknow!) because I'm just not the guy who has all the time in the world. Sometimes having a slow release period gives me the chance to catch up. If you are the type of person who has time and money to play every new game for every console when they come out, than good for you and I'm very jealous, but I'm sure you are the minority.

Of course I would love a new triple game to play every month or so, but we are just looking at the bright side of the "drought" and enjoying the multitude of great games out there.

No, I don't think you did get my drift, because I actually implied the opposite to the bolded when I said: 'Why can't you just shortlist and pick the very best for you? If there's a consistent stream of amazing games and you can't afford/don't have time for them all then you just prioritise.'

And your second paragraph suggests you aren't all that relieved that there's a drought after all, which is kinda my point.

Ninty and MS have both dropped the ball on console exclusives for some time now. Here's hoping E3 turns things around, though I won't be holding my breath. It's a good thing that console fans are calling them out on that, rather than trying to find ways to justify it.

I said I didn't get your drift! The people in my bolded statement I was referering to were the "others" in your statment that are being "denied" new releases. And yes, I do prioritize, that's the point. I've prioritized the whole life of the Wii and that means some games that have interested me, but not been on top of the list have had to be left by the wayside. Now that there is not a steady attack of must have games, we are going back and finding those games priority caused us to skip and picking them up and enjoying them.

We aren't justifying anything. I can both desire a new game to drop, while at the same time be relieved with the time I have to play my backlog.
