Though wikileaks exposed that China too has little patience for North Korea, i'm positive they would not appreciate having a militantly anti-communist and pro-American regime right on their borders, and there's the possibility that as in the Korean War, they would move in to back them up (though that is far less likely today)

Also that the real reality of South Korea having to assimilate North Korea and North Koreans (which would be the inevitable consequence of the destruction of the DPRK) would be staggering. The Federal Republic of Germany struggled for decades to fix up former East Germany, and the severe discrepancy between the Koreas today is far greater than the discrepancy between the Germanys was then. At least the East Germans had food.
