um both? nintendo once again doesn't have to go for the kinda power sony/Microsoft will prob be pushing for but they definitely have to do a significant upgrade this time around, it's prob best to look at 3ds for what their strategy for the wii next will be(one key new innovation, upgrade in power and a push for third party support at the least amongst japanese developers). the other two , i presume that they will go for more power too with a gimmick ( used with a positive connotation) and prolong this generation so that they can launch at a cost effective and market acceptable price.

Actually in the end neither matters, it will forever be the software that in the end wins out, motion controls alone did not sell the wii, the use of it in games like wii sports did, same goes for the touchscreen in the ds. and if you look back in history the most powerful console, handheld whatever has almos never won out. In the end making games that compels people to buy your system is what really matters.
