That could be the case as I also saw many kinect units last week in my local best buy. It could be retailers want people to go to the stores for more impulse buys and crazy expensive bundles. I also noticed that in-store they have alot of bundles to get rid of old crap that was way overpriced to begin with such as HDMI cables. For example they would have a 360 bundle that would normally cost $300 going for $385 and they include third party controllers and hdmi cables and claim you are saving alot of money because the hdmi cables used to cost $50. I personally hate best buy as I believe they are blatantly misleading consumers for a quick buck. Seriously who needs to pay money to help to get on xbox live.
Not sure if people noticed but online bundles are usually a pretty good deal but store bundles are usually a huge rip-off.
