No.

I'd make a bad soldier for several reasons: lack of physical strenght, defiant nature, overt individualism, lack of herd mentality, hate violence of any kind, feel depressed even if I squish a fly etc.

Plus, I couldn't fight in a conflict I don't agree with, and finding out the real motivations behind a war takes time (of course most soldiers don't really know, nor probably really care why they're fighting in a particular conflic).

Most wars today are very pointless, and seem to only take place to justify throwing tax payers' money at the companies that produce weaponry (politicians and copitalists profit greatly from this).

Also, I've never understood why anyone would say something like "anyone who enjoys the freedom my country has to offer owes a debt to it". It's the state's OBLIGATION to assure the safety of it's citizens. I'm a citizen of a particular state, I pay my taxes, the state has the OBLIGATION to protect me. Citizens don't serve the State, the State serves them! (We're not in Communism anymore after all).

Overall I don't trust the military, and I'm suspicious of anyone who would willingly join such an institution.
