hmm they may do that, but I think they an't to keep as close as possible to dota at least for launch anyway. Tho I guess the quote

"DotA-Allstars' roster of 100 heroes is being brought over in its entirety. The single map games take place on is functionally identical to the one that you can download for free today in the Warcraft III mod. Items, skills, and upgrade paths are unchanged. Some hero skills work slightly better due to being freed from the now-ancient Warcraft III engine, but Dota 2 will be instantly familiar to any DotA player."

does suggest that some abilities will function slightly differently thanks to the new engine.

It's all just a matter of if you've played TF2 or not.

I mean, if you haven't... here is a fun expierment.

Rent TF2 on 360.

Then find a friend who has TF2 on PC.

It's like playing 2 different games.

The variation and game changes likely will come, just not until after the port is successful and the "proffesional leagues" are formed.

Then once they are, they'll be able to ban all the fun stuff valve will give us later.

Like TF2.

I have TF2 I play it occasionally, don't know anyone who has the 360 version tho lol. And yea changes will probably come eventually, possibly when they add new heroes or decide to rework some of the old ones. How long that takes probably depends on ice-frog and how close they wan't to keep it to DotA. The real test of the game will probably be when DotA 2 diverges significantly from the mechanics in allstars.
