Honestly my PSP is the most used Sony product I have ever owned. So when I heard Nintendo was releasing 3DS I was extatic. I decided I would buy 3DS day one, but then I wanted to get my next PSP so I could enjoy the next LittleBigPlanet etc...etc... But to my dismay Sony threw in the towel.

Disagree ?, Sony just handed in their resignation from the handheld gaming market or at least the PSP will have to remain on shelves another generation. Why? Simple Nintendo is launching 3DS this fiscal year, they already have about what 50 first and third party games lined up likely to launch within its first year. This momentum will be irreversable and Nintendo will dominate the market share more then ever before. Sony will not be able to launch PSP2 next year unless Nintendo's 3DS hits American shelves in March and Sony launches PSP2 in spring.

If PSP2 isn't at TGS then its all over for the PSP. PSP will begin to drop in sales with the 3DS and DS increasing their market shares. If PSP2 doesn't launch within months of 3DS its all over. That being said I think Sony might be working on a cell phone to compete with I-Phone. If so the next PSP may not be direct competition for Nintendo anyways if they slip into the cell phone market there is a chance they could be successful.

But in the end Sony cowering and not releasing PSP2 is a major dissapointment for me. Oh well I guess Nintendo's getting more of my money now lol!
