Reading through your posts I'm not sure where you are pulling your figures from. First to your post regarding surveys about how often you play your wii... these surveys are meant for the GAMERS not the CASUAL market, most of the casual market will never see those surveys.

Casual buyers will buy a new console that looks better, casual gamers like casual games. Hardcore Gamers like Hardcore games. The Wii has many more casual games out there right now, even if most of them are crap, the consumer still has a large selection. All of the genre defining games you list off are all FPS games. Casual gamers don't find much interest playing one right after another.

After buying my PS3 and looking through the selection of games, I find that besides sports games, there is very little to offer for more than 2 player local play... (the one casual game that the PS3 offers has 4 player support, LBP) Occasionally I have friends over and we like to enjoy a game at the same time.

Casual gamers will buy a new Nintendo console not just for hi-tech alone though (I do agree on that point) the casual gamer doesn't want to spend money each gen on a new console. WiiFit has been the big push for the console, every time I walk into a store, I always see someone buying WiiFit, or an accessory for it. Fun Fitness is something that they saw in it. Unless they can somehow implement Fitness into a new gaming console, and make it better, those same customers won't return as easily.
