I really dont think the graphics of UNcharted 2 are that special.  For me it was the gameplay, and its REALLY fucking good actually. It feels like an Indiana Jones meets James Bond adventure, and thats just awesome. But visually, its still obviously from the world of the polygon and in some areas you can see it.  the ice cave area for example was very clearly making heavy use of texture and shading for the realistic effect because there were jaggged polygon edges everywhere.  It was convincing though and I have no complaints about it.  The village was nice and I do like how they modelled chunks of rock and brick in crumbling buildings.  What really makes Uncharted work is the masterful level designs.  Being able to climb  multiple floors of abandoned buildings, parcour style sign jumping to reach areas thought impossible...it was pretty brilliant stuff and I hope ND makes another one.

As for Alan Wake, I think visually the lighting effects are unparalleled, but its a COMPLETELY different kind of game and it doesnt look like the sort of game Id like.  I hated the Heavy Rain Demo because it was QTE city and I like meatier games like Uncharted that emphasize crazy action and survival. Ive gotten tired of shooting games over the years, but Uncharted didnt focus on the shooting too much and thats why I like it. SO really, graphics were pretty much the last reason I enjoyed UNcharted.  Its just a well designed game that is easy to get into and understand.

I would say it is THE killer app for PS3.  Forget god of war.  I hate it. Its all about Uncharted.
