I disagree with you. Sony was disruptive on the business side with the PS1/2. Rather than disrupt solely through features (cheap CD's for the consumer, cheap DVD player which was vastly superior to VHS) they also disrupted on the business side with no restriction on number of titles published a year, no Nintendo Seal of Approval, Cheap CD's vs. expensive carts. Essentially they made it easy for lots of games to be made on their system for cheap.
Sony never disrupted PC's, as PC's weren't used for watching DVD's on a TV, or listing to CD's on in the family room. It wasn't until recently that people really use PCs as a media center (apple TV, Windows Media Center, laptops with WiFi). If Sony disrupted PC's, then Nintendo did it first with the NES/SNES, as back then PC's had similar (yet more colorful) games. 3D gaming was also done (and better) by the N64 for cheaper (with exception of game prices).
