Whilst you're right in terms of online, it is behind in terms of dedicated servers and in terms of the mod community, console gaming offers other advantages (e.g. local MP). Also, console gaming online is pretty simple to get into for most.

Lol, I just realised I'm defending consoles in this thread and PCs in the MW2. I have to say though, console only gamers seem more ignorant of the benfits of PC gaming than the other way round.

yes i agree i love local multiplayer and think its the best thing ever in video games.  My favorite memories of video gaming are not when i'm in a room alone.  Hell even playing computer games online like diablo 2 are much more fun if the guys your playing with are in teh same room with you.

but it seems most people now a days think and hate this local multiplare or co-op games.  Everyone is like who cares if it don't have local multiplayer i just want online gaming.  There have been a few games i was all pumped for an looked really cool, but then i heard no local multiplayer so went completley out of my mind, never thoguht of that game again.  Can't even remember them all now to make a list, just one of more recent ones woudl have ot be THE CONDUIT.  Was all pumped thinking could be the next perfect dark (64 version) or golden eye, but nope they cut it, so i did the same, i cut the game from my budget.

And COD4 modern warfare, was a great game, but played halo 3 over it anyday, and woudl recommend halo 3 over it anyday to anyone.  The reason, you can have friends play on your system online with you.  If I wanted to play online in cod4 only I could play, no one else, they had to get their own system and be on their own tv.  they couldn't join in on my system.  (though i did hate how halo, only the paying account could talk with headset, the friends brought along couldn't)  But still a billion times better being able to bring htem along.

I am really starting to hate the industry, between its fanboy journalists, cutting of party games (local multiplayer), and its "were hardcore" attitude, it is really annoying.
