I'm sick of this completely false idea that some how games have gotten shorter. Does anyone remember Golden Eye? It was possible to beat the game in 40 minutes for **** sake. If you think the single player is too short for your taste that's one thing, but to claim that a 5 hour campaign is some kind of revelation in the fps genre is laughable. Not every fps is HL.

As for for people complaining about the 10 for last appeal. MW was one of the most played games online of this console generation, millions of people have spent 50+ hours with this game online. Infinity Ward has made the online experience a major focus and deservedly so due to the response of its community. If online isn't your thing then no it doesn't have a lot of lasting appeal, but then the game isn't designed with you in mind, it was designed with the millions of players who buy these games with online play as a focal point of the experience. This is like complaining about the lasting appeal of Oblivion if you hate open world rpgs. If this type of game is your cup of tea then yes the lasting appeal is a well deserved 10.

I know reading reviews is to hard for a lot of people. The review clearly states that if you are buying the game for the single player you might be disappointed and should consider renting it instead. I know thats hard to get from looking at a number. Pro tip: spend 5 minutes to read a review before you rip it apart.

Lastly IGN is not one guy in his basement. Mark Bozon gave this game a 9.5 some other editor reviewed Uncharted 2, these are the opinions of different people and are not directly comparable. To say Uncharted deserves a 9.9 if this game got a 9.5 is absurd considering these are reviewed by different people with different standards.

So many absurd posts in this thread that seem to be propagated by people with agendas rather then well formulated opinions or arguments.
