As of now Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2 look much better than any console game I've seen. MGS4 is around the level of RE5/Gears 2, I can't say it looks significantly better. Heavy Rain, GOW and GT could be countered by Halo: Reach, Alan Wake and Fable 3 as far as we know.

I'm getting a PS3 next month (for it's exclusives- 360 will still be my main console for multi plat and online.....though one never knows that might change) and personally I thought Batman, Resi 5, Gears, Assasins Creed....they look really good on the 360 (and I know for a fact they look better on 360 than the PS3 versions except of course Gears which is exclusive). So is Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2 that much better graphically than any of those games? You use 'much better'... is that what I should expect or is it down to personal artistic tastes?

Technically (i.e. not art style or anything subjective like that) the cream of the crop PS3 exclusives are graphically better than anything on 360.

However, we're not talking 'hugely' here but yes, noticeable if you're into that sort of thing.  I'm talking Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 here, plus the original Uncharted.  Uncharted 2 for example pips Gears 2 in just about every way, frame rate, screen tear, motion blur, etc. but only slightly in each case.

As I said in my earlier posts, it should be borne in mind that these titles are built on custom, brand new engines developed on and for PS3 only. Gears 2, for example, is on an open middleware engine.  I think Forza 3 is the first 360 title on a custom engine that shines graphically, although it only just pips GT5:P and I think there remains a fair chance GT5 will outshine Forza 3 graphically (note, I'm not talking handling, damage, physics, etc. just pure visual fidelity).

On the other hand, you'll find most multi-plat titles look slighlty better on 360, particularly anything built on Unreal engine, which simply runs smoother natively on PC / 360 s PS3.  Some 3rd party titles look equal and a few slightly favour the PS3, however the majority favour the 360.  Again though, for the most part you're talking small differences apart from a few extreme cases, say Ghostbusters, where the developers clearly found coding, etc. on 360 much easier than PS3 and failed to produce equivilant results.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
