Ghostlight Ltd. has revealed that its debut on the PLAYSTATION 3 will be the forthcoming Agarest: Generations of War. Set for release in September, Agarest: Generations of War looks set to further enhance the European publisher’s reputation for bringing some of the hottest gaming properties from Japan to the European market.

Released under the name Agarest Senki in Japan this Role-Playing Game (RPG) caused quite a stir with its Soul Breed gaming system where, having saved the world, the player is courted by three princesses all vying to become the next queen. Having tempted the player to make a decision the resulting progeny possesses characteristics and style influenced by the players choice of bride.

This innovative feature alongside an excellent storyline, comprehensive character development and fantastic gaming environments led Agarest Senki to receive critical acclaim in the Japanese gaming media and excellent sales in the stores.

At the heart of the gameplay is the combined strength of the three collaborators behind the project – Idea Factory, Red Entertainment and Compile Heart. Each company has an outstanding reputation for developing high quality, in-depth and rewarding strategy games and the European release will not see any alteration from the original code in any way.

In fact Ghostlight will be adding to the release with their announcement of a Collectors Edition alongside the standard retail version. The Collectors Edition will feature unique value added extras including an art book, postcards and other exclusive items. More importantly there will be just one batch of the Collectors Edition released in Europe so pre-ordering will be required.

Sam Collins, Head of Sales at Ghostlight stated “Ghostlight is delighted to be able to announce the release of Agarest: Generations of War for Europe. Our previous Japanese releases have included Shadow Hearts: from the New World and several games from the Shin Megami Tensei series and the response from the gamers of Europe has been overwhelming. We will continue to release such innovative and high quality titles in Europe for the foreseeable future.”

Agarest: Generations of War will be released on PLAYSTATION 3 in September and will be available from all good videogame stores, online retailers and also via the Ghostlight website www.ghostlight.uk.com. Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with the latest from Agarest: Generations of War and Ghostlight.
