This game is awesome, but it also has an extreme flaw one that no artistic awesomeness can over come.

This is not a Brawler that it tries to be.
The game suffers from a serious lack of direction or an identity crisis if you will. A traditional Brawler is side scroller you play with your friends and beat in about an hour. A brawlers success back in the arcade and SNES days prized the arcade game play. Short unique levels. This game is too long for a Brawler that it plays like, but it's too short for current Brawler adventure.

It also has a fun, but lackluster multi-player. Brawlers worked by co-op play and increased the challenge by increasing the bad guys and health of the boss. This game could have been better under two directions

The expected direction. Make the game longer and add interesting level circumstances that make them more interesting. They added a replay level to increase replay value by having you go back to redoe them. Good idea, but outside of raw score their seems little reason to play them again.

The Arcade direction. Shorter levels, more levels, split screen, more bad guys. Remove the replay levels and add a shortcut system to avoid some by passing some criteria. Add some secret levels and unique items and awards. Essentially increase the arcade elements of the game.

The game got overly hyped because the art direction and presentation were and are excellent, but the entire package is a little lacking.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
