I adopted blu-ray and HD DVD quickly... I bought quite a few HD DVD as their cost was substantially lower then blu-ray most of the time. But, still it was more costly then regular DVD so I had not purchased at the same pace as regular DVD.
I think at this point I am waiting for a majority of movies to become downloadable HD formats. You don't ever need to buy a movie, you can just stream or download them and watch when your interested. I know that many places are still absent a fast Internet connection... But, in my house I have the option and am really warming to the idea of not having physical media. I can't wait until all games are this way too (I like Steam).
