I can understand the bad feeling about homes.
Here's the problem though. If they don't build the runway people will complain and Britain won't be keeping up comercially causing long term problems much more severe than some losing homes now. If they build a new airport, it's worse for the environment and take more homes.
Lose-lose situation. Sucks.
I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
