REDMOND, Wash. and TOKYO — April 1, 2007 — Microsoft Corporation and Nintendo Co. Ltd. today made a historical announcement that will reshape the entertainment industry with the launch of the Wii60 Bundle, which comes with an Xbox 360 video and entertainment game system and a Nintendo Wii video game system, a 20GB hard drive, a wireless Xbox 360 controller, an Xbox Live headset, one wireless Wii Remote controller, one Nunchuk controller and a copy of Wii Sports and The Burger King games plus one month of Xbox Live Gold. Additionally, the companies announced that the Wii remote and Nunchuk controllers will work on Xbox 360 and they are backward compatible with both Xbox and Xbox 360 games. "Wii failed to reach the masses as no hardcore gamers will buy the same console his young sister and grandparents chose," says Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime. "But with the Wii60 Bundle we are finally getting that hardcore crowd!" "The Nintendo Wii was about to surpass the Xbox 360 installed base, so we needed to do something to avoid falling into a second place" says Peter Moore, Corporate Vice President of the Interactive Entertainment Business and Devices Division of Microsoft Corp. "Now, with the Wii60 Bundle, neither Nintendo nor Microsoft can lose the next generation console war!" The Wii60 Bundle will be sold at an affordable MSRP of just $449.99 and it will be available on November 21, 2007. http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/13149/Microsoft-and-Nintendo-Announce-Wii60-Bundle/
