Have you seen the difference between a DVD and HD DVD? I have a 50 inch TV and 5.1 surround sound speaker set up at home. It is almost a waste not be able to use a HD DVD.

I have tried to hook up my computer to my TV and was able to watch some HD sports clips through my TV. What a view!! It is almost as if you were watching the game through a window.

I need a HD DVD or a blue ray player!

I've done the same with my HTPC. I downloaded several HD trailers, short movies and such to watch on my HDTV, and they look spectacular.

However, there is one caveat: I was watching it less than 1m away. From that distance it really looks remarkable - all the detail and the crispness of the image are frankly impressive.  From where I normally watch TV however (3m), I simply cannot make out the difference - or the difference is so slight that you need to really focus on the image to notice.

I'd love to get a larget HDTV, but there simply is no space! That's why, unfortunately, Blu-ray and HD-DVD are low on my list of priorities.

On my gaming computer, however, I have a 27" HDTV hooked up, and it's great because you are always sitting no more than 1/2m away, but I can't justify having Blu-ray or HD-DVD players just for my PC.
