Kinect helped boost 360 sales?

Kinect did absolutely nothing for 360 sales. Not sure what makes you think it did, but thanks for the chuckle. :D

So XB1 only did two and a half million less than 360 year for year in 2017? So at that point aligned sales were neck and neck for the two systems' lifetime sales right?

It's pretty well known that Kinect helped the 360 later in its life. The 360 was losing steam in 2009 compared to its previous year and when the Kinect launched in 2010 it gave new life the console alongside third party games like Black Ops.
By the end of 2017 aligned sales by 4 years (2009 v 2017) the 360 was up over the XBO by over 2.5m. The XBO sales were already down for 2 years and has never reached 10m while the 360 had been able to sell over 10m for two consecutive years and the Kinect years followed. It would have been hard for MS to keep up with the 360 or come close to 60m with Xbox only exclusives.

Are there actual numbers to back this up, or is this just one of those generally assumed (but incorrect) things like phones killing handhelds? You'd have to show that the Kinect model of the 360 sold more, than the standard model, despite having the same HDD and being at a higher price point to convince me. Otherwise you're just arguing by way of whatever fills the "best explanation" for 360 sales jump in 2010.

Also, the whole idea that Kinect somehow boosted 360 sales from 2010-2013, and then helped to tank XB1 sales is counter-intuitive. Finally, Wii sales drop off shows that the motion control craze was over by 2010 or 2011.
