So basically you're ignoring the fact that the 360 has outsold the PS3 by about 500,000 units AFTER the holidays? He never denied the 360 having a great holiday (which it obviously did). Not to mention the PS3 is down YoY and the 360 is up.

If you mean at the same point in the consoles' lifetimes, then yes the PS3 is doing better. But that doesn't guarantee the PS3 will sell more than the 360 in the end.

Wether or not the ps3 will considerably outsell the 360 after a pricecut is a good question.

What that guy posted on his blog, it is however a bunch of baseless speculation mixed in with a good dosage of fanboy logic.

I guess some guys just can't take their favorite toy being outsold by another.

as far as brand recognition, I disagree quite a bit. In America, xbox is a much more apreciated brand than playstation. There is a reason why the xbox has such a large lead here and this is one of the big reasons.

as far as competing with their last gen console, yes, that might hurt sony, but it could have also helped them if they had stuck to their guns. Having people buy their last gen console would have helped them in the long run if they had kept their backwards compatibility. However, now when customer's go to buy a new console, they basically have to start from scratch no matter which one they choose so they loose quite a bit of loyalty here, but yes, it is hurting them in their ps3 sales having the ps2 out.

most consumers don't care about online starting out. They are mostly just concerned about price and games.

as far as if sony's price cut could catapult them ahead of xbox, I think it's possible. It also depends on how microsoft responds. I think Sony needs to concentrate a lot more on the American and European markets too. They are losing in America bad and they need to do something about it. If microsoft stopped selling 360's right now it would take Sony over 2 years to catch up to them in America and the lead is only getting larger.

who even know's if the PS3 will out sell the 360 with a price drop.
look at last gen the PS2 was a year of the xbox. the xbox had a few price drops
and it never caught the PS2. its the same way this gen but the 360
is a head. it will be tough for the PS3 to make a come back.
the 360  had a great hoilday sale. it sold more consoles in nov of 08
then the PS3 did in the 3 months during the hoilday

It's too late in the game for sony to come back and beat Micrsoft for #2. Some ground will be made up but MS already has an 8 mil lead.

Has he posted bad Sony news? Would Saimcheeda do that, to create a thread to echo bad Sony PR?

There's some real misinformation in that last paragraph. It will outsell the 360 after a price cut but not immediately overtake it, of course. An 8 million+ gap would take some time.
