Yeah, months 13-14 had a large spike (Christmas 07) and now it's selling at the same rate as the 360 (ish).

That's awesome!  That cat looks like its about to slit someone's throat.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

3rd-party sales are still bigger on 360/PS3 combined! so there :p

The graph is through May 2008 for Wii/PS3 and May 2007 for 360, by the way, and shows NPD (US) figures.

What's interesting is the slope. Wii has sold 10 million 3rd-party games in the first 5 months of the year in the US alone, with not many big sellers but a lot of little ones (including Okami, Boom Blox, and others). This despite Smash, Mario Kart, and Wii Fit all releasing in that time frame -- third-parties stared in the face of Nintendo's biggest games of the year and still sold a cool 10 million.

As compared to 6 million for PS3 -- without MGS4 but with GTA4, DMC4, R6Vegas2, and Haze.

360 had 7.5 million in the first 5 months of 2007, which had I believe stuff like Guitar Hero 2, Rainbow 6 Vegas, GRAW 2, C&C 3, Lost Planet, not exactly slouches.

Not to mention that a typical Wii game is less than a third the cost of a typical HD game, with most of the Wii games released much less than that even.

If this included GTA IV and MGS4 this graph would be much more interesting.

Please ,not saying it isnt true ...but this is a PR graph with no raw data behind.

And ,for all we know ,it could be just the massive amount of cheap shovelware whats selling...because when the third party companies give their lowdown by plattform the Wii sure as hell isnt that high.

^-- GTA4 is included for PS3. For 360 it's in its lead year.

Besides budget titles and actual quality games that just don't appeal to you (Game Party, Carnival Games, etc.), what true shovelware title has sold on Wii? How many that didn't also sell on PS2? How many have actually sold more than 200k (which Okami, Boom Blox, and Zack & Wiki all passed and thus made profit, by the way). The answer is, not very many.

I should have specified, 360 of course :p
